What do you do during the summer?  John, a first violinist with the orchestra since its beginning,  has a very green thumb and grows all sorts of veggies and flowers in his gardens.  He sells some of his produce and plants at the Greenville Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoons in the summer.  John also plays with the Encore Strings and serves as its spokesperson when the group performs at retirement facilities and nursing homes.   If you don’t know him already, you’ll want to get to know John.  He’s very friendly and has lots of stories to tell.  At orchestra rehearsals, he can usually be found near the snacks at break time.
