New Horizons ORCHESTRA returns this fall with the theme: a little musical Journey Across America.
If you’re new, director Rachel Richards and Adam Korber, our teacher for string beginners, and all of us welcome you to the orchestra! If you’ve been with us in the past, welcome back! Registration for the 2022 fall session opens August 23rd. $125 tuition is for 10 rehearsals plus a planned concert on Saturday, November 12. Rehearsals are from 6:30 to 8:15 Tuesday evenings, beginning Sept 13 through November 8th. We rehearse in the beautiful sanctuary at First English Lutheran Church, north site, 6331 North Ballard Road, Appleton. You need your instrument and bow (in good condition), your own music stand, and possibly a music stand light. Sheet music is provided and must be returned at the end of the fall session. Because we rehearse indoors, we’ve finalized this COVID policy:
While the COVID pandemic has evolved, the threat of serious illness remains. Considering our (generally older) population, we’ve developed COVID rules for our 2022 Fall Session through discussion with multiple city and county health professionals.
- While COVID vaccination is no longer required, health professionals strongly urge everyone to be up to date on their COVID vaccinations.
- Well-fitting masks (preferably kn95 or better) covering both nose and mouth are required of everyone during rehearsal.
- Orchestra seating will be set up maintaining 4′ distancing.
- It is very important for you to stay home if you have any symptoms of illness.
Our COVID rules are in place to help keep everyone safe. As the pandemic evolves, we may modify these rules as necessary.
